Love them! They didn't have my length in stock so I am having to have them shortened but can't wait to wear them!

Pants are nice but too long. Need altering.

The pants are nice, but they are too long for me. I need to hem them in order to wear them. I have not been able to hem them yet. The length is 34 and I need 30, 31, or 32 is okay sometimes. I've noticed on your website after looking at other pants and sizing, most, if not all of them, are 34 in length. So, it seems that your apparel leans towards catering to taller individuals/customers. Maybe I'm hesitating in hemming these pants because they have a thicker material, so it's going to be a little more challenging to make them look okay afterwards. Often, if I need to hem a pair of pants that are too long for me, it affects how the pants looked originally, how they hang on me afterwards, which is not always in a way that I like because the hemming can often change the overall look. At least for me. I'm 5'3'' (and I ordered a size 12 here) and I can't always find a pair of pants with the appropriate length. I often need to wear shoes with a higher heel in order for a longer pair of pants to work, which is okay some of the time, but not okay every time. Sometimes I don't want to always have to wear a higher heel or boot. Of course, I could always have the pants' length altered professionally, but then there's the additional cost and time with that as well. One experience with a professional alteration that I had: I had the length of a long evening dress altered and the seamstress had measured on me, with my shoes on that I would be wearing with it, of where to begin the new hem line/length. But when I went to get the dress back, it was much shorter than where it seemed to have been in the process of her determining the altered length. I had wanted for it to be a little longer and thought that I had said as much. Anyway, I felt that the new finished length had ruined the overall look of it and how it felt on me after the alteration. It had cost a pretty penny and travel time, too, and added on to the cost of the dress, which wasn't cheap. I had had a deadline of leaving on a trip soon after the alteration when I went to pick it up, which didn't allow me any time to try to change it. Plus, the dress material had already been cut off on the bottom before she did the finished hem line, so there was no way to get any of the length back from the original material. I could have created a big scene and complained, but I'm not that kind of person, and by then was in no mood to do so, in also seeing that the material had been cut off on the bottom rather than just turned over and hemmed that way, which I know is often how it's accomplished or finished. But now I am a bit gun shy about having something hemmed professionally because the seamstress/tailor, it seems, can often have their own opinions regarding the appropriate hemline length for you. At least, I felt that that experience revealed that to me. I feel that I don't need or want to always be persuaded to meet someone else's personal criteria and opinion regarding the length of a dress or pair of pants, etc., with them giving their professional advice or opinion. I am not wanting to experience that kind of situation again. So, now I am left in a conundrum of what to do, besides return the pants, which may be too late to do now. I will just try to hem them myself, as I often usually do, anyway.
5 out of 5 stars.

Love the fringe! These pants fit true to size and I'm petite and had the pants shortened and they still looked great for my ski trip in Big Sky.
